Photosig is one of the best ways to improve your photography. The site lets you upload photographs for others to review. Just as important it lets you review others photographs--I've found I've learned just as much if not more critiquing other's photographs.

An interesting article on amateur astronomers capturing professional images with digital cameras.
Wired News: Backyard Paparazzi to the Stars
Digital Camera Reviews and News: Digital Photography Review: Forums, Glossary, FAQ. In the last couple of weeks I've had a couple of relatives ask about what digital camera they should look at. Invariably I recommend that they look at dpreview.com so that they can make an informed choice.
Last set of photo's I shot were for a family wedding over approximately four days in Missouri. Lena has a large family (1 brother, 4 sisters) and her brother's son was getting married. The color photos were shot with a digital camera, the B&W with a Leica. I think the Leica photos have more personality but that might just be the fact I like the Leica better.

One of the most useful photography sites for me is
Photo.net. An interesting sidenote, being interested in Photo.net led to an interesting business for my company
MicroAssist in that we ended up using the content management system technology for our clients to create websites. Websites created with the RedHat Content Management System (which originally started out as Photo.net) include
David Dewhurst for Lieutenant Governor website,
Round Rock Express (Nolan Ryan's baseball team) and even the website for the state's environmental protection agency--
TCEQ. Never now where one's hobbies will lead eh.
